Basilica of St. Mary
Parish Capital Campaign for the Restoration of a Historic Basilica
The campaign at the Basilica of St. Mary began with a bold vision: to raise $2.5 million to restore the historic brick exterior of the Basilica. As momentum grew and the parish successfully met its initial goal, leaders chose to expand their vision. Inspired by the generosity of their community, they set an additional $500,000 goal to replace the church’s organ, which had been irreparably damaged by a lightning strike.
In the end, the campaign raised an extraordinary $3.4 million — reaching 113% of the expanded $3.0 million goal (and 136% of the original target). This remarkable achievement not only restored the Basilica’s exterior but also ensured that sacred music would once again fill the church for generations to come.
